Stem Cell Transplant Trip
Donation protected
Last year in the very end of September I was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I went through six months of chemotherapy and a month of radiation. I finished at the end of April then went back to work in May. It's been a fantastic last few months of working, making new friends, and meeting all kinds of new people. In mid July I had my first follow-up PET scan. We all thought the cancer had been eradicated but unfortunately we were wrong. It turns out it was mostly gone in my chest, but had moved into my abdomen. I just recently had a laparoscopic biopsy done, and the preliminary pathology seems sure that it is cancer. The next step for me would be to have an autologus stem cell transplant. While I have been very fortunate with the insurance that my father provides me, it will not cover the costs of the trip out there and our stay. I've worked all summer to start paying off the medical bills from my previous treatments and at this point have barely put a dent in them. It's not easy for me to ask other
people for money or for help. At this point though, we have no idea how much this trip will actually cost. Any donations will be enough to meet my goal. I created this page for those who would like to help our family in this time. The last thing I want my family to worry about is the cost of a trip to Houston. If you can't afford to donate, I completely understand. We all have our own battles we're fighting. Please just share the page. If you do donate, you have no idea how thankful my family and I will be. I have already received so much support from my friends, family, and neighbors, and I am so thankful.
