Thomas O’Malley the Alley Cat
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mia. I was driving my youngest son to school on 4/10/24, and saw something in the road. Cars were zooming over top of this object in the road, some went around it. I stopped my car and got out to take a look, and saw a very sad and sickly cat. I stopped a few cars for help to see if someone had a box or towel, and eventually ran across to the nearest house where they gave me a towel. I scooped up this little guy who put up zero fight, and called our veterinarian in Manheim (Dr. McElheny). I brought him in, and the doctor cleaned his face, gave him some antibiotics and has been keeping and treating him.
At this time, we are not sure if this fella will pull through or not. He is dehydrated, emaciated, and has a severe upper respiratory infection. He’s lived a very hard life.
Although I won’t be able to keep him, my goal is to raise the funds so he has proper care and attention. If he doesn’t pull through, we will have given him compassion and a dignified ending. If he does make it (we are hopeful!), his continued medical expenses would likely be a burden to both the veterinarian and myself.
Any amount that you can spare to help this guy out would be so much appreciated! I will keep everyone updated!
Update 4/10: Thomas O’Malley made it overnight, but he is still in rough shape. The veterinarian gave him another round of antibiotics and more fluids, but he is still not eating. They are keeping a close eye on him and I will be visiting him tomorrow morning to see how he is doing. In other news, you all helped me reach our goal! We raised $970 through GoFundMe and Venmo for his medical care expenses. I’ll be delivering a check to the vet tomorrow! Please keep this little guy in your thoughts because he isn’t out of the woods yet.
