Chris Harvey

Hi, my name is Julia and I am fundraising for my dear friend Chris Harvey. Chris is a wonderful single mother of three boys and lives near me in Squamish, British Columbia. She and I often take her favorite dog Sombra and my dog on bike rides or walks.

She has been struggling with a medical emergency which has taken her away from her work. She works as a contractor and does not get sick leave or pay yet must continue to pay for her and her boys' lives. She has Chrohn's disease which was being medicated with prednisone. That hid the inflammation and symptoms of a complicated abscessed hernia which soon put her into sepsis. She spent a lot of the summer in pain and has already fallen behind on her work. She has finally had surgery but her struggles are not over. She will have to have another surgery in three to six months and her ability to work will continue to be affected.

She has a team of friends supporting her with meals and chores and visiting her in the hospital. She wrote me, "I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am still struggling with this (a gofundme) but I am not sure what to do otherwise. At this point I am too weak to do basics and I have no idea how I'll return to work or when. This unravelling is so humbling."

All funds will be going towards helping Chris pay her bills for food, hydro, and home expenses. Your support would be so greatly appreciated.
