In Memory of Sean
Donation protected
We first met Sean at George Mason University in the spring of 2015 as a prospective member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Some were fully initiated members and others were prospective members joining him on the journey. One thing brought us all together, though. We all yearned for a close group of college friends that we could call our brothers.
Over the next few years, he showed us time after time what it meant to be a true friend. He was there without fail regardless if we needed a couch to rest on, a tutor for our IT classes, or someone to talk to in trying times. In spring 2018, he walked across the stage with his pledge brothers and earned his diploma in Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity. He moved in with four of his best friends and they set out to begin their careers.
Sean had wanted to be a doctor for most of his life before falling in love with computers. He recently found the opportunity to provide cybersecurity to the NIH – it felt like fate.
He had been dreaming about moving to Denver. He knew that, as a Cybersecurity Consultant, he could take his talents to any market. Unfortunately, God had other plans for him. He suddenly passed on May 16, 2021, leaving behind his mother, father, older brother, and a family of close friends from his time at GMU.
Sean had a kind heart and was loved by all who knew him. Please help us commemorate and honor his life. Thank you so much.
-His fraternity brothers (in honor of the Mattingly family)
Sean Mattingly's friends are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of his family. All money raised will be put towards funeral & reception expenses on Saturday, May 22. His parents have established a scholarship fund in his name at La Salle Academy in Providence, RI and any funds in excess of what is needed will deposited there. We have been authorized to withdraw the funds on their behalf, pay necessary bills, and deliver any remainder outside of GoFundMe.
