Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Needed!

Hi, my name is Emily, and I’m raising funds for my 5-year-old daughter Ava who was born with quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Ava relies on a wheelchair for mobility, and our current vehicle isn’t equipped to safely transport her.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can help with funding for modifications for wheelchair-accessible vehicles, but it only covers specific models, which can cost up to $85,000. Additionally, NDIS only funds modifications for vehicles that are less than 5 years old and have traveled fewer than 80,000 kilometers. Unfortunately, our car doesn’t meet these requirements, and we’re unable to modify it to meet Ava’s needs.

Having a wheelchair-accessible vehicle would allow Ava to continue to access important medical and therapy appointments, school, and the community, giving her the independence and opportunities she deserves. It will make a world of difference for her quality of life.

We are hoping to raise $90,000 to help us purchase the right vehicle and cover the necessary modifications. Every donation, big or small, will help us get closer to making this a reality for Ava.

If there are any funds left over after purchasing the vehicle and modifications, they will go directly to supporting Ava in other ways—such as covering extra support work shifts and therapy appointments.
