On December 23rd, Mitch went to the emergency department at St Johns hospital for some leg and chest pain and they found several blood clots had traveled to his lungs determined to have been caused by DVT. While looking into the reason this had occurred further tests and scans were done and, on Christmas Eve, Mitch was told that all results indicated it was leukemia of some sort. Mitch was then transferred to the U of M Medical Center for further testing, including a bone marrow biopsy and central line placement. The preliminary bone marrow biopsy results show that Mitch has a very rare form of leukemia and he will begin Chemo immediately. It is also very likely that he will need a bone marrow transplant. Many of you have reached out wanting to be tested to see if you are a match and we will get the information on how you can do that as we learn more later this week.

We are also navigating being in a hospital during Covid and having to deal with strict visitor policies. He can only have one visitor a day and at this time we need to limit it to only family as his immune system is severely compromised and we have to be very careful not to expose him to any germs or virus. He also cannot receive any plants or flowers but please continue to text and call him. He appreciates that more than you can imagine. Mitch is strong and we know he will kick the sh** out of this cancer!!

Dec 30th update-

Mitch started Hyper-CVAD chemo yesterday which consists of 2 rotating 21 days cycles that he will have to do 4 times each so a total of 168 days....

As most of you know Mitch is one of the most genuine and caring people on this earth. He is always willing to do anything he can to help his friends and family. These funds will help with bills and such as he will not be working during these times and his road to recovery will be long.
