Today I let go of my son
I have hung on for too long
I should have seen the signs, addiction has won
I fought with all my heart
Setting up every opportunity for him to grab
Fixing every wrong and hoping he would find right
I will not lose, I will not fail, my son will learn
I will prevail
I learned no one can be that strong
My strength is not his
The more I try the more I have lost sight
Of the boy I knew
His lies are my truths
Please “Highest power” the place you go when everything is lost
Make this horrible feeling the start of future lessons
Promise this is “part of a plan”
That my son’s biggest mistakes will reveal themselves as his strongest traits.
I will be patient and find a “faith”
“Out of my hands” my meetings state
All this sounds great but what is the cost
What if he fails what if I’m wrong, what if I lose him forever
Back to a meeting back to my book back to my faith
Today I let go of my son
RIP Baby
