Daana's New Wheels!

Hello all!
I'm here to ask for a little help for my bff, Daana Townsend. She's this amazing woman. Let me tell you a little bit about her. She's a Sociology Instructor, has a mad book collection, is a lover of lipstick, and cares deeply about her family and friends.
Daana has been teaching for 12 years and has a deep commitment to social justice, the community, and equality. This coming fall, Daana was selected out of hundreds of teachers to teach incarcerated individuals through a new collaboration between MATC, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Department of Corrections.
As a very private person, Daana does not feel comfortable sharing the struggles and challenges she has recently begun to face because of her multiple sclerosis.
Daana lives with extreme, often painful spasticity (stiffness & spasms) in her legs. On good days, it can make walking a challenge. On bad days, it can make walking almost impossible, and unsafe (potentially leading to falls and injury).
Daana is currently recuperating from a brief stay in the hospital. Her physiatrist and physical therapists have recommended that for safety reasons, she has use of a power wheelchair on days when walking becomes unsafe.
Unfortunately, her insurance doesn't cover a power wheelchair for use outside of the home. For practical purposes, Daana needs a collapsible, compact, and lightweight chair for easy transport to allow her to get to and from work, etc.
Daana would love to be able to be mobile, not only in the home, but outside of the home. More independence creates a happier way of life and a chair would help with that.
ANY amount you can donate will be truly appreciated.
She deserves health and happiness. I'm so lucky to call her my friend.
