Dad can't afford medical bills after attack

Donation protected

On June 30, 2020, my 60 year old father, Gregory Miller, was viciously attacked by an unknown woman with a knife as he attempted to board a bus, heading to work at 4:52 a.m. The woman ambushed him from behind and repeatedly stabbed him in the head and arm. As he tried to escape the attack, he was crippled by the blood in his eyes due to the multiple stab wounds. At some point, he was able to get the knife from her hands but the woman then began to gouge at his eyes. As all of this began to unfold, the bystanders who were waiting on the bus stop with him did not come to his aid. They did, however, call the authorities. Due to him being stabbed so many times, he lost an immense amount of blood. When he arrived at the emergency room, he discovered that his blood pressure had dropped to 50/40.

As a result of his injuries, he is currently unable to work. Gregory has suffered over 16 stab wounds to his head and two stab wounds to his shoulder. In addition, he has a fractured occipital bone, a sliced jaw tendon (which inhibits his sense of taste and smell), unilateral facial paralysis, and loss of clear vision. The medical bills are accumulating and the insurance coverage he has is not accepted in Las Vegas, Nevada. My father is a retiree from a dedicated city position and was a previous resident of Chicago before relocating to Las Vegas five years ago for more affordable living. Due to his insurance not covering his inpatient stay any further, he was discharged early from the hospital. He was advised that he needs to undergo surgery for the fractured occipital bone to help with the facial paralysis and that he may require additional procedures. Gregory is a hardworking father of five, grandfather, and great grandfather who has always worked two to three jobs, minimum. At this point, he just wants to get his life back, as do we.

Gregory desperately needs our help and support. Any financial assistance will help greatly. All donations received will go toward his medical bills and living expenses. With his saving being depleted, this monetary assistance with carry him through until he is able to work again.
