Dad & Daughter Searching For A Place To Call Home

My name Is Hector Sanchez, I'm a 34-year-old full-time single father of a bright and beautiful little girl named Serenity. For the past 4 years, it has been Serenity and I. We once lived a very stable lifestyle. I rented a 2-bedroom apartment and had a good job and a nice car.

Our world was turned upside down. When we got in an accident that put me out of work for a while. The at-fault driver had no insurance and I had no uninsured motorist coverage. My collision coverage paid for the remaining balance on the car loan and I was left with nothing. Soon after we were evicted from our apartment for non-payment of rent.

I have been down every avenue as far as finding help for people in my situation. The family shelters are all full and there is an 8+ week long waiting list. A list that I have already placed us on. I have called 211 so much that the people on the other line recognize my voice before any personal information is exchanged. There isn't much help where I'm from for single fathers. All help is geared toward single mothers, battered women, the mentally ill, and last but not least drug users. That's great that there is plenty of help for those people in need however where does that leave my daughter and I?

As a full-time single father facing my own personal economic crisis, I need help securing a safe place for my daughter and I to rest our necks at night. Your donation would help do just that by paying for an extended stay for a week. If there is a possibility I can manage to get help with a stay for longer than a week that would be a real blessing and a huge step towards helping to get a stable footing once again. Either until my name gets called from the shelter list or I start my new job and I start getting paid regularly again keeping the ball rolling that you guys helped me to start.

I had interviews this past week and also have a few more lined up for next week. Waiting on background and MVD checks to clear which I’m confident I will pass since my background and MVD are clean. Having a place to shower get adequate and safe rest in a place where we can keep our stuff will make attending said job once hired more manageable and realistic than you may know.

If 50 people donated $20 dollars we would hit our goal in no time and be able to obtain a place to sleep for a week instead of the airport like we have been or ex coworkers couch. If 100 people donated $20 that would help to extend the stay for an additional week. At that point stability for my little family of 2 would start to be more of a reality again. It would mean the world to me as a Father to once again provide a healthy safe environment for my daughter to grow in this pivotal time in her young life.

Having the ability to obtain a stable lifestyle once again my daughter will have the opportunity to get a piece of her life back. Going through this unexpected crisis has made both of us more humble. And learned to appreciate the little things in life so many people take for granted. Like a bed to sleep in, a tub to take a shower in, a place to do her hair every morning before school and most importantly walls to hold our memories containing happiness and love.
