Dad in need, for the long haul
Donation protected
Hi,
We are the children of Noe Hernandez Jr. (Brittani & Hunter). We have started this GoFundMe, because as many of you know our father was admitted suddenly to the ICU on Tuesday November 29th. He has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and Covid Pneumonia. When dropped at the ER his oxygen level was at only 40%, as the Dr explained to me 40% oxygen is considered end of life level. His blood sugar was over 450, and he was in diabetic ketoacidosis. He was initially placed on oxygen with no response, then high-flow oxygen with no response, he was then moved to an optiflow with non-rebreather at 100% assistance and 60 liters of oxygen, it began to stabilize his oxygen, however after being taken to critical care he was no longer responding to optiflow, and we had to switch him to a bipap machine that is assisting his breathing at 100%. A CT scan of his lungs (lit up like a Christmas tree) according to the Dr. Meaning the pneumonia has completely taken over his lungs, they are no longer functioning, and he requires 100% assistance from the machine to continue breathing for him. Every day the updates continue to go up and down. Some days we get glimmers of hope, and other days we spend the day in tears reasoning with God. We are preparing for the long haul that we know our father will be on during this recovery. We have 100% faith that he will come home to us, when that happens he will require extensive care, as explained by the hospital coordinators. We cannot be sure exactly what that care will look like at this time, but it will require a lot of assistance. In preparing for that day we are already anticipating the extensive expenses that will be involved. Anything that anyone can contribute would greatly aid us in his care. Thank you to everyone who continues to reach out, sends prayers, and shares stories. We see you, we hear you, and we appreciate you.
With much love for our Dad,
