Daddy Needs a Kidney Team Steve Gee
Donation protected
Steve's kidney function is so low due to Polycystic Kidney Disease that he has been placed on the transplant list. Stanford, where he is currently registered for a transplant, has a 6 to 8 year wait list for a deceased donor kidney.
We are still hopeful that someone will be willing and able to donate a kidney to Steve before he has to start dialysis. Many thanks to everyone who has tried to donate! If you think you might be Steve's match please take a look at Stanford's kidney donation webpage! His blood type is A+. https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-treatments/k/kidney-transplant-surgery/kidney-donation.html?fbclid=IwAR0mBqO0RryLFAdPswcE2ycMdl3joOoLc9QkH-lmE7JnoZGLf_WNYiFkB-g
If we aren't able to find a living donor match we are looking for ways to cut down the wait time. Once Steve starts dialysis next year he will be hooked to a machine for 10 to 12 hours every night which will be difficult for this active father of three! One way to do this is to register with transplant centers with shorter wait times. The average wait time at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona is 2 years! Unfortunately this would not be financially feasible for us without help so at the urging of friends we have started a Go Fund Me campaign. The gifts received will be used to pay for medical expenses, transportation, child care, and lodging.
Thank you to everyone who donates or keeps us in your thoughts and prayers! Please see our Facebook page for more information- https://www.facebook.com/Daddy-Needs-a-Kidney-Team-Steve-Gee-273856723278039/?modal=admin_todo_tour
