Dad's Battle Against Stage 2 Myeloma
Donation protected
On the 30th of August 2024, our world was turned upside down when we received the devastating news that Dad has Stage 2 Multiple Myeloma. Despite the challenges ahead, Dad is determined to fight and has chosen to pursue treatment. With treatment, the doctors have given him a prognosis of 2.5 to 3 years, during which he will need to attend outpatient cancer clinics three days a week. The road ahead is daunting, and we know it won’t be easy. He will face immense sickness and unimaginable pain, but Dad’s strength is unwavering.
Palliative care has been offered, and they’ve suggested he move into a care facility for more comprehensive assistance. However, Dad’s love and loyalty to Mum run deep. He’s made the brave decision to stay at home, wanting to be by her side, even if that means enduring the pain without full palliative support.
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I NEVER ask for help. I’ve always preferred to suffer in silence. So, please understand that asking for help does not come easy to me. But in this moment, for Dad, I’m reaching out.
This is an incredibly challenging time for our family, and we are humbly asking for your support to help us navigate the journey ahead. Every bit of help will make a difference, as we work to keep Dad comfortable at home and provide the care he needs.
Treatment day is Friday 20/09/2024 and we currently don't have a comfortable home for him to come back to.
The funds raised will be used for
- Comfortable adjustable bed
- Costs of ongoing medication and treatment
- Day to Day requirements as working for a wage is now not an option
- Utility and increased living expenses
- Professional in-home care
- Travel and transport to and from hospital
We appreciate that cost of living is very high. Everything counts.
Even $5 donations are greatly appreciated!
Thank you for standing with us.
