Hawkeye

I'm gutted to have to do this but here we are. Hawkeye has been battling urinary issues for about two weeks. Things seemed better after two vet visits and one ER visit. Hawk got worse on Thursday morning and thankfully my vet was able to see him. The vet said he was not blocked (he graciously peed on the exam table when she did her vet thing), gave him fluids, and put him back on meds. I left hoping that would work as, having ruled everything else out via urinalysis and culture, the next step would be a catheter and monitoring in the ER.
My worst fears were realized last night when I rushed a nearly unresponsive Hawkeye to the ER. Terrifying. For him and for me. I saw Hawk before I left. He was so out of it he didn't react to my scratches but I have to hope that he felt my words.
Since I left Hawkeye has had blood work (elevated kidney levels which they hope will stabilize), Xrays (no stones showed but they do not always show on Xray), meds, and, finally, a catheter.
Hawkeye did well under anesthesia. He's sedated now and apparently under a bear blanket. I could use both of those things now.
I'd describe Hawkeye as my sidekick but if you've met him or seen his pix on Instagram and FB, you know that I am Robin to his Batman. He and his brother are my world. They adopted me on January 12, 2020, two months before the world shut down. We spent so much time together that even a quick trip to get the mail was met with glares upon returning home.
I'm here to ask for help. Last night's ER visit and hospital stay is nearly $7000 (more if they run into unanticipated issues) I have another $1000 in vet bills from the previous visits. Anything you can float my way would mean the world. And if that's not in your financial cards, sharing the link would be the cat's meow.
