A couple weeks ago, our sweet and dear friend Nicole Daggett was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma (kidney cancer).
Nicole has been in contact with Central Washington Hospital, UW, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Doctors and other specialists from all locations have been discussing what course of action that needs to be taken in hopes of removing the cancerous tumor.
As of right now, the doctors are unsure of which type of surgery will be performed due to the size and location of the tumor. Because of this, it is uncertain how long Nicole's recovery is going to be. They are hoping to have the procedure sometime this month. With the holidays around the corner, you can only imagine the amount of stress and uncertainty.
What's important right now is that we are here to support and send all our love to the Daggett family. For those of you who do not know the Daggett family, they are the most selfless, kind, and loving people that we know. Always putting others' needs before theirs. Now it is our turn to do the same!
We will be sure to update this page as more information is received.
12/4/20 UPDATE
Nicole's surgery for the first phase of her treatment plan has been scheduled for Monday, Dec. 21st. As of right now, the doctors are still unsure of how the surgery will go and which type of procedure to perform (robotic surgery or open surgery). Best case scenario is robotic surgery in which the doctors estimate 1-3 days in the hospital and a 4-6 week recovery. Worse case scenario would be open surgery which would be 5-7 days in the hospital and a 6-8 week recovery.
We are all continuing to pray for a quick, safe, and fast procedure and recovery!
12/8/20 UPDATE
From the Daggett family:
"We can't begin to express our gratitude for each and every one of you--this has been overwhelming and scary at times, but knowing that we have the best people surrounding us has made all the difference. From our family to yours, thank you."
