The Daghlian Family Needs your Support after the Fires

On January 7th, the Daghlian Family (Saren, Patill, George, their parents Armen and Datevig, grandmother Vergine, and dog Winn-Dixie) lost their home and all their possessions in the Eaton fire. They thank God for being alive but now face all the stresses and expenses that come with the uncertainties of their new reality. While they consider various programs for long-term recovery, they urgently need your help to cover many of the unexpected costs. Sadly, insurance is not covering what they promised.

The Daghlians are a very special family. Saren, Patill, and George are all in the midst of rigorous study at Caltech in Pasadena where they are all earning PhD and/or MD degrees. Their lovely parents, Armen and Datevig, have put their all into running an auto body shop to pay for their education. They spent years saving for and building their house with the purpose of using it as a space to spend quality time with friends and family.

Through their pursuits, Saren, Patill, and George have spent their lives committed to science and the betterment of society. Regardless of how challenging their research or coursework may be, they have always put community first. Whether it be a friend, colleague, or just a familiar face, no Daghlian has passed up the opportunity to strike up a conversation and listen intently about the challenges and successes of those around them. Over the years, the three of them have even gone out of their way to organize and perform multiple chamber music concerts to fundraise for those displaced in Syria, Armenia, Lebanon, and Haiti.

Now we have the chance to give back to them!

Your contributions will ensure they have the stability to navigate the next steps in rebuilding their lives. Every donation helps, no matter the amount! Funds will be used to cover the wide-ranging costs associated with recovering from such a terrible event. These funds will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid.
