Thank you all so much for donating and sharing, I'm overwhelmed with how supportive and kind people have been.  Seeing that I've reached the goal so quickly has made me believe I can actually get more of the changes and care I need & deserve so I've raised the goal. I will be using any additional donations towards voice therapy and/or pitch lowering surgery.

My name is Dahab and I’m a Black queer trans man, artist and community organiser. The journey towards becoming who I am today hasn’t been easy but I’ve survived and I’m here. I’m ready to take the next step to feel gender affirmed and even closer to a sense of peace in my identity.

 I want to start taking the hormone testosterone which will help make changes to my body that will make me feel more at home and aligned with myself. This won’t be the only step I’m taking but it will be one of the first. I’ve started this fundraiser to help me get there.

I’ve decided to go private because the current wait at an NHS GIC (gender identity clinic) is 3+ years, and I just can’t wait that long. I’m asking for donations towards the cost of a set-up fee, subscription, consultations, blood tests, hormones and supporting letters. Anything from a share to a donation will help with my gender dysphoria and ultimately my mental health and happiness.
