Dailey Healdsburg Donation Class, EOP Sonoma State

Donation protected
Our Dailey Method Healdsburg community joins the collective global response to racism in peace. It is not enough to be non-racist. We must be anti-racist and use our voices to be heard.

Join us on Sunday, April 18th at 10am for a donation-based outdoor Dailey Barre class (barre is a mat-based hybrid class, combining elements of pilates, yoga, strength training) for clients, friends and family.  All funds raised will be donated to The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Sonoma State. The EOP was created in the late 1960s in response to economic and social barriers preventing minorities and underrepresented students from attaining a college education.

Whether you are able to attend class or just want to support this mission, we suggest a minimum donation of $20 to help us reach our goal of $1,000.  The Dailey Method Healdsburg will donate match up to $1,000 if we reach our minimum goal.

Please sign up for class here
(MUST sign up via Mindbody in advance to attend)

**Can't make class but want to take it? Donate and let us know via email that you'd like a recording of the class sent to you - link valid for one week post class.

EOP is a highly vulnerable student population and is one of very few legislatively required, mandated programs in California. The purpose of EOP is to provide access, academic support, and transitional services improving the retention of educationally and economically disadvantaged students. The majority of EOP students are the first ones in their family to attend college and all are first-generation college students. EOP is a program that provides high-impact practices for admissions, support, retention, and graduation of underrepresented and underserved students, particularly students of color.

Donated funds will be added to the EOP's Aurelio Saucedo Scholarship fund that is awarded to an EOP Freshman every year. The scholarship is in honor of a young man who was a freshman at Sonoma State in1985, a first generation college student, an immigrant from Mexico who could barely speak English when he came here. Against tremendous odds, Aurelio became one of EOP's top students, President of MECHA & the Chair of the Inter-Cultural Center Advisory Board. He was already looking into law school. He was an inspiration to all who knew and worked with him. He was disadvantaged by many of society's standards, but he succeeded because he worked hard, utilizing all the services available to him on this campus. He exemplified the potential for success that we all have if we believe in ourselves and have others who believe in us. Aurelio was tragically killed in a car accident by a drunk driver in a head-on collision in the middle of the day on his way to SSU. Each year in his memory, Sonoma State celebrates his humanity and his gift to by honoring another EOP Freshman who is overcoming challenges & already showing outstanding promise.

The Dailey Method's mission is to empower individuals to become their most vibrant and authentic selves through a mind/body transformation within a compassionate and supportive community.  The Dailey Method Healdsburg  studio opened in October 2019. We offer individualized attention in a group setting to give you the strength, discipline and joy to find ultimate alignment. Our community believes anti-racism is a process and supports ongoing active awareness.

Donations made to the GoFundMe account fundraiser page or this event will NOT be eligible for a tax-receipt by Sonoma State University. EOP Donation Class is not hosted or sponsored by Sonoma State University. All funds donated to EOP Fundraiser will be donated to SSU by The Dailey Method Healdsburg - Barre + Cycle Studio.

Thank you so much for helping us support this mission and anti-racism awareness!
