Please help pay Hospital balance

Update 6-21-24 Thank you all for your quick action of contacting the Embassy. We are making progress. I need to make a correction about the last update. I was never informed that the funeral home picked up the body from the hospital until last night when I spoke to the Embassy. The funeral home has had him but I can't tell you for how long because I do not know. The funeral home can not do anything but "store" him at a rate of $70 per day until they get the death certificate. This will be the last goFundme update until everything is final. Thank you all for loving us during this time. Thank you for the many prayers. Thank You God for mercy, grace, and forgiveness.

Updated 6-20-24 Gary passed away on Father's Day 6-16-24. As of today the hospital has not released his death certificate. His body can not be picked up without the death certificate. There are many technicalities and it hard to get answers from the hospital on a balance and that balance goes up daily. The last statement that I have seen shows a balance of $34k. Right now we are just focusing on getting his body released. The hospital bill is still owed and that is no argument. I understand and am aware that as his sister I am not legally responsible but I also know that I want to help as much as possible to get this bill down so that my sister in law and my nephews and nieces do not have to bare the burden. I am so humbled by all of the people who are helping especially Robert Aderholts office. The Embassy is on the ground now so be praying that this is resolved quickly.

Update 6-13-24 Gary has been moved to a regular room but is on comfort measures only (meaning only keeping him comfortable until his final breath or another miracle from God). Gary wants to go home but can not until his bill is paid. The financial need is still very real. Thank you to all of the friends and family who have took the time to send a message letting us know that you are thinking of him or us. Thank you for the donations and prayers.

Update 6-9-42 He is still critical with no improvement or decline. Daily medication, labs and supplies add up unbelievably quickly. There is no way one person can keep this going but with your help it is possible. Thank you all again for the many prayers and donations! We are humbled and cannot express how grateful we are.

Update 6-7-24 Gary was extubated but is still critical. His kidneys lungs, and liver are not functioning correctly and the Drs seem to think that this is a repeat process until his body gives up. Where he stands financially? There is so much. #1 need now is payment for medication. #2 need is that when it is time for discharge or to discontinue treatment the hospital will not release him until 50% of the bill is paid in full. I know this always seems to change and that is the hospital way of negotiating payment. The first thing that he whispered to me is, "I am alive!". Thank you all who have helped and prayed for him be cause we know that he would not be alive with our God and his provisions through you.

Update 5-25-2024 Gary has made a turn for the worse. This has been since an emotional and financial rollercoaster nightmare. Lyn is back to having to pay for all medical treatment and medication upfront again. Your prayers and funding is very important to Gary right now!

Update 5-24-2024 He is getting better but still very weak, confused, and in a lot of pain. He was technically discharged several days ago but because his bill is not paid in full they will not let him leave. There is a huge financial need. The Philippines healthcare is horrible. If you can donate it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the many prayers and donations already given.

Update 5-17-2024 He is still very sick and in ICU. He is very confused. The hospital has began to force them to pay for everything upfront now. Gary and Lyn are both in need of prayers. Thank you all for your support!

Updated 5/16/2024- He is still showing improvement but still very sick and in ICU. Funding is very low at this time and payment is required daily. Please consider donating to help Gary get well. Thank you for your prayers and for your donations. Praise God for his healing!

Update 5/14/2024 - They were able to successfully remove the life support machine and he seems to be doing ok. He is still very sick and weak but still improving. Thank you all for the many prayers and support financially. There is still a need for daily medical payment inorder to continue care.

Update. 5/13/2024- We Praise our GOD...he is doing better! Plans to remove the Life Support during the next day (our night his day)! His kidneys are still doing good and his color is good. Thank you to all who have helped with funding because with no funding there is no treatment. There is still a need with funding. Thank you all for the prayers!

Update. 5/9/2024- Right now his main concerns are Encephalopathy, Kidney failure, and an unknown infection. He has began producing urine but we are not sure how well the kidney is filtering. When Lyn spoke to him he shrugged his shoulders. They are little steps but we will take them and celebrate! Please keep praying!

5/07/2024- I am trying to help raise funds for my brother Gary Hawkins. Gary lives in the Philippines and is very sick and on life support. In the Philippines any medical treatment is paid either daily or completely in advance. Every day by 2 pm half of his balance must be paid or he will not receive any treatment unless paid upfront. Today his balance is $1800 so he has to pay $900 by 2 pm. And tomorrow by 2pm repeat. If you have it in your heart to help, his family will be grateful.
