Daily Mail fundraiser for Black Lives Matter

On Monday May 25 George Floyd, a black 46-year-old man in Minnesota, was killed by a white police officer who pressed his knee into the back of his neck for an excruciating eight minutes and 46 seconds. Protests across the country are not only demanding justice for his death, but calling for the end of police brutality and systemic racism in this country.
Daily Mail employees would like to rally together and raise money to support this ongoing movement. It's history in the making, lives are at stake. To our black coworkers and coworkers of color - We see you. We hear you. We stand by you.
Together we're raising money to support three causes: the Black Lives Matter foundation, the GoFundMe for Breonna Taylor and the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition.
Daily Mail has promised to match our charity donations up to $15,000, but if we raise more we can go back to the company and request them to match it!

Breonna Taylor is a 26-year-old black EMT who was shot eight times in her bed by Louisville, Kentucky police who forced their way into her home on March 13. None of the officers were wearing body cameras and they were searching for a suspect who was already in custody. This fundraiser will support her family in their fight for justice.
The Black Trans Advocacy Coalition is a national organization that supports the black trans community with inequities in health, employment housing and education. Today the organization is providing coronavirus resources like medical care and shelter.
How it'll work: Valerie Henderson and Marlene Lenthang oversee this fundraiser and split total donations three ways to send to these organizations and Daily Mail will match the proceeds.
