Daire's battle with Leukemia.
Donation protected
Hi,
This is Daire Plunkett, an 11 year old boy that is currently having a battle with Leukemia.
Daire is spending the majority of time at the moment in Crumlin hospital as he in a very intense phase of treatment. Daire is currently undertaking his 4th round of chemotherapy and he will undergo a bone marrow transplant in the coming weeks.
All going to plan, the recovery time for such intense treatment can take up to a year. Daire’s Mam and Dad have a plan to home school him when he is able to, as Daire will not be able to return to school for the remainder of this academic year (risk of infection / lack of energy).
Daire plays a huge part in both the Kill and Sallins communities where he plays football for Kill Celtic U11’s and also plays Gaelic football and hurling for three teams in Sallins GAA.
Daire is a huge character and a big part of all his teams. When we received the news about Daire we were all devastated but we are very confident that he will overcome this battle with Leukemia.
How can we help? We have created this fundraiser to help Daire and his family raise some much needed funds. As Daire will be out of school for a prolonged period of time, his family need to juggle their work / life balance which cannot be easy. Any money raised will go towards helping Daire and his family when he returns home from treatment and hopefully take away any unforeseen financial burdens they may encounter.
Our thoughts & prayers are with Daire and his Mam and Dad Neal, Eleanor as well as his twin brother Riain as they battle cancer together as a family.
Any support is welcome. Thank you.
