Daise Family & Maui Rebuilding Fund

Aloha friends:
With the help of our cousin, we’d like to try again to post our gratitude and an update on how we are moving forward after the devastating fires that destroyed our home. I’ve had trouble with posting on Facebook, so I appreciate Tina helping us with this!
We are so grateful to have received all the donations, thoughts, and prayers over the last couple of months! Not only the tremendous financial support we’ve received (and we really need it), but the texts, phone calls and letters means so much!
This last couple of weeks has brought more hope as things are coming together, and we feel we’ve made some positive plans for our short term future! We were able to rent a very nice two-bedroom apartment just south of Lahaina that is really in a nice location and they allow our three dogs! It is so nice to be able to escape from the stress and devastation to our little temporary home, and the dogs have a nice area too!
We just ordered a “Tiny Home” which can be ready to occupy in 8-weeks! Only 600 sq ft., but with pets and the very high cost of renting (if one can find anything) we feel this is our best living option while the gov’ment clears the land so we can eventually rebuild. Right now we are finalizing a location to put it on, as the county leaders can’t make decisions with bending zoning regulations to help with short term housing.
Vashti and Seanna are back to teaching, which is wonderful for everyone! Tranquilo did survive, with minimal damage, so I’m very grateful to have her still!
Mahalo In Hawaiian means thank you…Mahalo nui loa, means thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Mahalo nui loa our friends,

Lanny Daise Vashti Daise Seanna DaiseHi, my name is Tina Cotton. I’m from Northwest Missouri. This GoFundMe page is an opportunity to help my husband’s cousin, his wife and daughter (Lanny Daise, Vashti Daise, and Seanna Daise) who were living in Maui and lost everything in the Maui wildfires. Vashti and Seanna are former teachers at Bishop LeBlond High School and Cathedral Elementary in St. Joseph, MO. They are the kindest people in the world and would do anything to help others. There’s not much we can do, but thought this might be something to help them and others. After asking Vashti if it was okay to set up this page, she sent me this,
“You are so sweet. We’ve had others wanting to send money and I’ve been pondering hard on this. I think I’ve decided that we should graciously accept gifts like that with the understanding that we may decide to share with those that we find are in more need as time goes by and support from the government and citizens in general starts to wind down. Seanna works at a Title I school and I’m fairly sure that at least half of them will have lost their home. I know it can be hard to know how/where to give and people in the trenches know when a need arises. There will continue to be great need for so many as you know. Thank you so much”.
This truly shows how big their hearts are and that they think of others before themselves. Anyone who knows this family, knows this. One of the many reasons everyone is wanting to do something to help them. Please feel free to donate what you can. Any money raised will go to Vashti Daise to help her family and others affected by the Maui wildfires. I’ve had people not wanting to donate due to “tips” to GoFundMe. Please be aware that you can change the “tip” amount to zero at the bottom of the donation page after putting in the amount you want to donate. Let me know if you have any problems.
If you’re unable to donate anything, please pray for them and the many families and souls affected by the fires. May God bless you always!
