Daisy is baking to support Macmillan Cancer
Daisy is 3 years old (turning 4 the middle of August).
The end of January 2023 her daddy (Lee) was diagnosed with Tonsil Cancer- spread to Tongue and Lymph Nodes, as you can imagine it turned our world upside down. He started an intense 6 weeks of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy and we are currently waiting for (hopefully) good results!
I can’t express how amazing Daisy has been, especially for her age! She helped Lee with his feeding tube, she rubbed cream on his neck when it was getting sore and if she ever saw him struggling she would give him a cuddle and say ‘it’s ok daddy’.
Daisy has an 18 month old baby brother and without ever being asked she looked after him so much pretending she was mummy and I (mummy) was temporarily daddy until daddy got better.
Her heart of gold is what helped to pull me and my husband through the most difficult time of our lives so far, at only 3 years old she has the kindest heart and to say I am proud is an understatement.
Alongside Daisy, during this time Macmillan Cancer have been amazing! Through phone calls and one to one meetings they listened to all of our worries and spoke to us when we just needed to vent and make sense of everything, Macmillan also gave Daisy a book called ‘a bag of worries’. She has asked everyone she knows to read it to her and even though she doesn’t understand she always asked the person who read it to her if they have any worries.
Macmillan Cancer are a brilliant charity and we would like to raise money to help them support more families who are being diagnosed with this horrible illness!
Daisy absolutely loves baking so on Tuesday 18th July she is going to bake and decorate 144 mini cupcakes to sell, all of the money raised through this page will go to Macmillan Cancer.
I know not everyone will receive a cupcake but if you can donate anything at all we would be truly grateful.
Thank you in advance for your kindness.
A video of Daisy making these cupcakes will be uploaded on to this link if you want to see her using her baking skills.
Thank you,
Jodie xx
