Our families are now sadly aware that on Saturday 7th September, Daisy Scamp, our lovely, brave Year 6 pupil, died after a prolonged battle with leukaemia and other serious illnesses.
Daisy was a much-loved member of our school community. She was brave, thoughtful, energetic and friendly. Her illnesses never diminished those qualities. Her death was very sudden following the tragic news (only a few days earlier) that her cancer had returned.
Many members of our community have approached us and asked if they can continue to fundraise so we can support the Scamp family. We have decided to relaunch our 'Go Fund Me' fundraising appeal. The link is:
In the first round of funding we raised £7,500. We have set an ambitious target to double that and move towards £15,000. We have sought the support of Daisy's family to proceed with this fundraising campaign.
Mum and Dad (Helen and Carl), Nathan (our Year 1 pupil), grand-parents and wider family are very much loved and valued in our community. The family have suffered greatly in the last 21 months. Daisy spent much of her time in hospital in Manchester with parents having to live away from home to provide much needed care for Daisy. For a lot of this time they were often unable to work to have valuable family time. This fundraising effort is a small step to support the family as they combat the most tragic circumstances.
After the funeral on September 26th, the school will also run fundraising initiatives to create a permanent place to commemorate and celebrate Daisy's life and footprint in St George's.
This fundraising page will be used exclusively to support the Scamp family.
If any families want to send personal messages to the Scamp family, please pass these to the front office (s).
