My name is Kristan Alexander. My husband and I are longtime friends of the Hughes and Graves families. We love these families and have considered the oldest set of twins Gabbi and Lexi, and Dakota as our own.
On February 28th, Gabbi checked Dakota out from school to take her to lunch to celebrate Dakota’s 17th Birthday. While on their way, Gabbi and Dakota were in a vehicle accident.
Gabbi walked away with a concussion, bumps and bruises.
Sweet, always smiling Dakota, gained her angel wings for her birthday. Kota will forever be 17.
This page was created to help Dakota’s family with medical bills, arrangements, anything they need so they can focus on their family. Please keep Dakota’s precious family in your prayers. Both families are well known in the surrounding communities, so let’s come together and show them the love they always show everyone else.
Ashley, Amber, Gabbi, Lexi, Rylan and family we love you.
A little bit about Dakota. She was a good, sweet, kind kid. She was always smiling and lit up a room when she walked in. She had such a sweet, big heart and loved big. She gave the best hugs. She was a funny, silly, goofy kid that loved to laugh and make you laugh. She played softball growing up for years and she danced for 13 years. She was a Junior at Mortimer Jordan High School. You truly couldn’t help but love Dakota.
We know Dakota is in heaven smiling, laughing, dancing and loving on family members that were waiting for her at the pearly gates. Fly high sweet girl.
A visitation for Dakota will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071.
