Dakotah's Path To Survival
Donation protected
Dakotah was your ordinary active 15-year-old girl involved in dance, high school cheerleading, competitive show choir and making TikToks with her friends. On April 19, 2022 Dakotah's world was abruptly turned upside down. She was diagnosed with stage 3 diserminoma ovarian cancer and has already undergone emergency life-saving surgeries, had complications with blood clots and has now started her first round of chemo this week at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dakotah's treatment will consist of days and nights in the hospital followed by outpatient treatments, not to mention the numerous medications and injections she will receive at home. Dakotah's family lives two and half hours away from the hospital and will require them to make numerous trips back and forth every week. Not only does a cancer diagnosis turn a child's entire world upside down but it also creates an overwhelming amount of financial stress on a family. Dakotah and her family are no exception to this and while their main priority at this time is Dakotah, we know the medical bills will start to come in soon.
There are still many unknowns with Dakotah's journey but we remain positive and hopeful. Dakotah continues to have a positive attitude and the strength to beat this cancer. We want to thank each and everyone for your continuing love, prayers and support.
I am Dakotah's aunt and wanted to create this fundraiser to help Dakotah's family meet the ongoing medical needs for her cancer treatments as well as the travel expenses that will be incurred for her treatment.
