Urgent: Please Help our Friends in Dalaba, Guinea
In 2002, West Newbury officially adopted a sister city in Africa: Dalaba, Guinea. Since then, through the Alliance Dalaba-West Newbury, we have engaged in cultural exchange programs and promoted girls’ and women’s rights, education and empowerment through Dalaba’s Cooperative Sisal 2 organization.
Today, Dalaba is in crisis – Ebola has claimed the lives of seven of its citizens and 15,000 more are at risk. Medical professionals know how to stop the spread of Ebola, but they lack the masks, gloves, sanitizers, protective clothing and other basic medical supplies to do so. I am asking all of my friends to contribute whatever money they can to the Alliance Dalaba-West Newbury, so we can buy these urgently needed supplies and help Dalaba stop the spread of Ebola.
Please join me and give today – Dalaba needs us.
