Dalal Family

Hi my name is Lindsey Neumann. This is a picture of Renee Dalal and her family at Christmas. Please let me share with you her story.

At the end of 2020 Renee Dalal had the unthinkable happen and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had a craniotomy that reduced the tumor from 2.5cm down to 6mm. Her tumor was stable from January 2021 until November 2022. Beginning in April/May of 2023 Renee began to have "tumor symptom's" and knew something was wrong. She had an MRI in September which showed the tumor in the acoustic canal had grown to be 11mm. It was crushing her facial function nerve, her hearing nerve and both of her vestibular nerves. After many meetings and tests, including an abnormal EEG, doctors at U of M decided that she needs another craniotomy to try to remove the remainder of the tumor.

Renee goes into surgery on February 12th and the surgery will last 9 hours. There are many risks to her well being. She may have complete right side paralysis, complete right side hearing loss, as well as both vestibular nerves may have to be completely removed, resulting in her having to relearn how to walk and balance using the left side vestibular nerves.

Renee and the family have been dealing with many stresses including having to find a nanny to take care of her two little ones for at least 2 months after the surgery if not more. The expenses are overwhelming and the Dalal family could use assistance. The funds raised will be used primarily for the expenses of a nanny and additional expenses. I have created this page to assist Renee in feeling secure that her babies will be taken care of. Please join me in supporting this family.
