Dale Concannon's Brain Cancer Fight Fore Life
My husband Dale Concannon is dying. Dale has been self employed his entire life. His passion for GOLF is unwavering. Sunday Times Best Selling Book Author. Golf Historian. Former Pro. We met in Michigan at the 2004 Ryder Cup when I was in charge of the Media hotel.
Backstory
In June 2019 Dale lost his Peripheral vision. We were told eye fatigue, eye stoke, and he underwent test. Fast forward to December 6, 2019. Dale had a brain biopsy. Then on December 16, 2019 we received the worst news of all. Dale was diagnosed with (GBM) GLIOBLASTOMA STAGE 4. The cancer is in the occipital lobe which controls vision. We were told 12 weeks to live without treatment. We spent Christmas Eve in hospital getting a radiation face mask made.
CURRENT SITUATION
We finished 6 weeks of very aggressive Chemo/Radiation on Feb 20,20. Dale has lost 80% of his vision. All the steroids make it hard to control his type2 diabetes. The brain cancer is causing balance problems. On April 24 he had a fall and broke his left shoulder which has left him completely immobile. Dale's prognosis is just months to live. His chemo treatment was stopped because of COVID.
THE FUNDS RAISED will help me cover monthly bills and more carers. It takes myself and two carers to help move him. Dale requires 24 hour care. The funds will also help with end of life care. My husband is very private and wanted no one to know about his brain cancer. But this is to big of a battle to fight alone and we need your help. Plus I want him to know people do care.
In golf the definition of a "Mulligan" is a second chance to perform an action usually after the first chance went wrong through bad luck.
My husband wishes he had a mulligan! He has lost so much! The cancer and radiation took away his vision and his entire working life. He could have done without the broken shoulder which causes him immense pain. I hope golf returns so we can share one more Ryder Cup together. My husband is fighting so hard to live.
Please donate if you can or share. I will be forever great full. If you would like to send Dale a private message I will read them to him. You can email [email redacted]
Thank you, Laura Concannon xx
