Support Dale’s Fight In Battling Cancer

Dale was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) in August of this year after seeing his Doctor for swollen lymph nodes.  MCL is a type of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). Dale’s PET scan revealed the Lymphoma is in his lymph nodes from his neck to his groin.  MCL has been known to have a poor prognosis. However, Dale received an aggressive treatment plan from one of the top NHL oncologists in the country, Dr. Lorenzo Falchi at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.


Dale’s treatment begins on September 16 and he will be in and out of the hospital for the next 3 years, reveling the life saving treatments. Chemo will be administered during the next for 4 months, followed by a bone marrow transplant. Maintenance appointments will follow every quarter for two years.


Sloan has played a leading role in the fight against MCL within the past two years and his Doctor is hopeful Dale’s MCL is treatable.  Since Dale lives 1200 miles away from Sloan in Pompano Beach, FL, travel expenses which include flights, train tickets, cabs, hotel stays, meals, etc.. as well as very high insurance deductibles & uncovered medical expenses, are all adding up very quickly.  The treatment alone is approximately a minimum $15,000 each year out of pocket and Dale is expecting a three year course of treatment.


Dale cannot work during his treatment, this is putting a financial strain on him and his fiancée, Marissa, who is traveling back and forth between New Jersey and Florida.
