Dallas Lepley Medical and living expenses
Dallas Lepley was in a motorcycle accident on Memorial Day in the evening. He was life flighted to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA. He sustained significant head trauma, primarily on his right side. He also fractured his C1, T11, and his thumb as well. Once stabilized in the trauma unit, where a ventilator was placed, due to aspiration, he was taken to the ICU where he currently remains. Dallas was amazingly quick to come off the ventilator and breathe on his own. He was not responsive for several days, upon some titration of his medication he slowly began to squeeze and respond to voice. Dallas was placed with a feeding tube, but he decided he wasn't having that in his nose. As he became more aware he was moved to a liquid diet and was an aspiration risk, he showed those around him in a few days he could do more. He has been trialing solids. Dallas has amazed his family, significant other Courtney, and his extended family of friends and co-workers what he is made of. Those qualities have always been determination, strength, respect, passion, and resilience like I've never seen. He will remain in the ICU for an undetermined amount of time. He is working on building up strength on his left side due to severe brusing and trauma on his right side of brain. He is able to identify by name most of those around, which is such a miracle. He has started some work with a speech therapist. At this time Dallas is of course unable to work, and has no financial source of means. He resides with his significant other and she hasn't left his side. Courtney is a significant source of support for Dallas, in addition to of course his Mom, Brandi, and many other family members. Prior to Dallas's accident he was employed as a State Correctional Officer since September. Prayers that he will be enrolled in a Healthcare plan asap. In the meantime he doesn't have any source of monetary compensation. I am helping this blessed young man raise funds so his apartment, household bills, medical bills, and other incidental expenses can be covered. All money raised at this time, will be for these things. Dallas will have a long road ahead of him during his extensive journey of recovery and rehabilitation.
I would like to introduce myself , Wendy Horvath, as the organizer, so you know who I am. I have been a friend of Dallas's mom, Brandi Kalina since 5th grade, I watched Dallas grow up from infancy. I am doing this on their approved behalf to lessen one financial worry.
I will be posting updates as available, believe in the power of prayer , it is working.
