Dallas Pauper's Cemetery Rescue Fund
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to rescue the Dallas Pauper's Cemetery from ruin, through the Babb Family Association, and any donation will help make an impact.
My goal is to raise the $40,000 ($12,000 is already in hand) needed to qualify for a City of Dallas Matching Grant program. They will match our $40,000 with another $40,000 which will allow us to purchase Granite Markers for each of the 2053 permanent residents of this neglected forgotten cemetery.
Currently every marker is in jeopardy of being destroyed every time the grass is mowed. Half have already been ripped from their moorings leaving the graves unmarked. 260 more, graves of Infants, lie beneath a cesspool of water 9 months of the year that breeds West Nile Disease.
Dallas Parks is addressing the drainage issues, but we need to raise the funds for the markers through private donations.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. You are helping to give dignity back to those who very badly need it.
More information about Babb Family Association:
Since its inception in 1989, the Babb Family Association has sought to provide the necessary information for genealogical researchers to connect to their family tree. In 2004, a new mission was taken on to Protect and Preserve related historical artifacts. In 2016 the mission was broadened to include the rescue of the Dallas Pauper's Cemetery, which is a modern day ruin in North Texas.
