I am setting this up on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law. Their 3 year old daughter Dallas is fighting through more than most adults could handle and is holding her own! They have insurance but it only covers so much and it doesn't cover paying their bills and taking care of their other two girls.
A little more than a week ago she developed an extreme fever and cough and was having trouble breathing normally so my sister took her to the emergency room to be checked out. To their horror and even the ER nurse, the doctor refused to see her and even reprimanded them saying "they needlessly brought her in, it wasn't serious" even though she couldn't breathe and her temp was hovering around the 103 mark. Following their parental and common sense instincts they took her straight to another hospital to be checked out.
They arrived at the new hospital and they immediately admitted her where she spent the next two days. After those two days her temp was down, she could breathe better, and the doctors felt she was well enough to be released and they went home. Unfortunately, things don't always work out the way you want them to. An hour later they were rushing her back to the emergency room after everything came back but worse this time. This time they were forced to put her under heavy sedation, force tubes down her throat and nose to be able to breathe, and sent her on flight for life to Denver Children's Hospital.
This place is amazing, the care they are showing is second to none. As she arrived they immediately started a full battery of tests and it was determined she had three SEPERATE viral infections so antibiotics were ineffective. Her overall condition keeps swinging back and forth until a couple days ago during another series of tests they discovered she also developed pneumonia so her body is fighting 4 infections at once. Her condition is very slowly improving but she's still intubated, can't fully breathe on her own, and is extremely scared and confused about what is going on.
So while my sister and brother in law are dealing with all this they have been unable to work and have no money coming in but they still have bills and a mortgage to pay, still have to eat, still have to have food for their other two girls and the medical bills are really starting to pile up. I am hoping through gofundme we can help soften some of this financial blow so they don't fall into a deep hole like so many others due to a medical emergency and they can focus and keep positive thoughts on her.
Anything you can do is greatly appreciated!
