Damage Repair Fundraiser Peace Officer Memorial
Tax deductible
We need your help.
Sometime during the last two weeks of June, during one of the most tumultuous times our region has experienced, our treasured Pikes Peak Region Peace Officers Memorial at Memorial Park was defaced. Damage was done to the granite pedestal our beautiful lion sits upon. Unfortunately, it was done with a chisel or other sharp object, leaving us with damage that cannot easily be repaired. To have it repaired to its original condition, the estimate is approximately $50,000. We are looking at other replacement options, but even if it is less expensive, we will have the added cost of increased security measures at the site and additional insurance.
While there have been other damages that have occurred to the memorial over the last two years, this was the most egregious and devastating to the families of the fallen whose names are etched on the granite.
No donation is too small to help us repair this precious Pikes Peak Region monument. Thank you in advance for you help.
