DAMAGED GOODS: a not-for-profit DIY music venue and rehearsal space based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Our aim is to offer affordable rehearsal spaces to local musicians, and to provide a venue for performances by artists from across the country and from further afield, with full backline provided for public use. We've secured a 3000sq. ft unit in which to do this, with a view to starting refurbishment work in February.
Leeds is currently without not-for-profit rehearsal spaces, and without a not-for-profit venue which offers backline. We feel that adding both of these to Leeds's already vibrant music scene will provide:
Existing and new musicians with an affordable space to get creative and perform.
Local promoters from a broad musical spectrum with a space to put on a diverse range of events.
Space for mobile recording engineers without their own studio facility, and for new engineers to hone their craft.
a new setting for Leeds gig-goers to enjoy their favourite bands, and to discover new ones
We're looking to raise funds to help with initial refurbishment costs, so that DAMAGED GOODS can open its doors to the public as soon as possible. We're looking at a variety of fundraising activities for the coming weeks, in addition to this page - for now, all and any donations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Team DG x
