Damaris' Long Covid Treatments

Long COVID or Post-COVID has been found in few people among those who've had acute COVID. People with long COVID experience a wide variety of symptoms ranging from a continuation of acute COVID symptoms to the breakdown of fundamental body systems. In many cases, inflammation from Long COVID acts as an autoimmune disease in the body.

Damaris has been dealing with long covid symptoms since August 2022 that have progressively gotten worse. She has experienced brain fog, chronic fatigue, sporadic episodes of muscle weakness, photophobia, and the loss of basic motor skills (inability to walk, hand tremors, etc). Due to these symptoms and the inability to drive, Damaris had to quit her job, leaving her without an income while paying rent for the past 7 months.

Thankfully Damaris has been referred to an OHSU facility treating patients with Long COVID symptoms, but she has been on a waitlist since January to be seen in June. In the meantime, she is pursuing an alternative means to treat her symptoms. She has the opportunity to be treated with EBOO (Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation) therapy, IV transfusions of vitamins, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber therapy, which have shown some success in treating people with Long COVID and other autoimmune disorders. Unfortunately, these alternative forms of treatment are not covered by insurance.

We are hoping that we can do some fundraising for Damaris and her family to ease some of the financial burdens as they pay for long covid treatments. We have been flooded with phenomenal support from loved ones willing to drive Damaris places and cover her with prayer. If you want to support Damaris financially as well, we would appreciate it.
