The Damascus Road Baptist Church is a church, established to help our children, family, and community to be confident in the Word of GOD and life.
Our goal is to self-educate our community, city, state, and nation to build better lives with support from various programs to help individuals live a better life in Christ.
Our goal, through the re-establishment of our church building, is to have after school programs for our youth (such as tutoring, educational advancement programs, and mentoring partnership with colleges and area institutions), help feeds our elderly in our community, assist our senior citizens with their medication and prescriptions, provide a daycare center to help mothers or families in need of assistance with childcare, be a support system to help in the rearing their children, and begin the “Brown-Bag of Hope” Program for our college students.
We will additionally aid in assisting with the on-job-placement program for our community, help with teen pregnancy program, before, during, and aftercare, and using the HOPE Closet to assist in clothing for families, for example, school uniforms, career attire, and job wardrobe.
We need support to finance our church sanctuary. We need to:
- Add a carpet runner down the middle aisle of the sanctuary,
- Purchase a communion/offering table for the sanctuary,
- Place a sound system within the church (there is nothing currently in place)
- Extend the pulpit by adding 2 feet to the current area,
- Upgrade and plumbing is needed for the baptism pool,
- And the adding of rails around the pulpit
In closing, we need your help and support. This is a new ministry anointed by GOD, having the mindset of change and hope to reach our people. We see GOD stepping in and using us to make a difference. We have a great facility, located in a needed area, and a great cast of followers to do GOD's Will.
