JUSTICE FOR DAMIAN

**There have been some questions about why we have changed our name to “Justice for Damian”. 

We do not believe that the police have hidden anything from the Dymka family, nor do we think they are mishandling the investigation. 

However, Damian’s death will bring in legal fees. Good lawyers are extremely expensive and the Dymka family deserves the best lawyer to ensure that Santiago is held accountable for the vile acts he committed. 

We say “Justice for Damian” because oftentimes, the courts fail us. Police are rarely held accountable. We are just doing everything we can to ensure Damian gets the justice he is entitled to, without putting his family under any undue financial strain.

In the past month, the love expressed for Damian was appreciated and felt. Thank you all.

Damian’s passing on the morning of November 1st was devastating and crippling to all who knew and loved him. Recently, however, new information was released in regards to Damian’s death, and I know I am not alone in feeling the way I do.

The nightmarish acts committed by Officer Louis Santiago were not made with intent to protect or seek aid for Damian, but were an attempt to cover up and get away with his crime.

Santiago and his passenger Albert Guzman did not call 911; nor did they try to render aid. Instead, the inebriated Santiago drove away and back several times and deleted calls and texts from his phone before taking Damian’s body to Santiago’s mother.

He’s now out on bail awaiting trial.

No matter the outcome, there is no bringing our Damian back. This isn’t about asking for miracles or turning back time. All we want is the assurance that whatever faith we may have in the justice system is not held in vain.

The GoFundMe page has been updated; all donations collected moving forward will be used towards making sure justice for Damian is achieved.

Hello, my name is Miranda and I’m fundraising on behalf of the Dymka Family, who suddenly and tragically lost their beloved son Damian.

 

Damian was a wonderful person, kind soul, and amazing cat dad to Theodore “Dore”, and Gabby. As a nurse before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Damian was always patient and sacrificed much to help save many. One couldn’t help but love him

 

Damian is survived by his mother Wioletta Dymka, his father Andrzej Dymka, and his grandmother Janina, as well as countless other loved ones. He will be sorely missed.

Loving him was always the most natural thing to experience.
