DAMIEN REVITT’S ROAD TO RECOVERY
On Wednesday 7th July, my partner Damo was surfing at Broken Head when he suffered an impact to the back of his head from another surf board. He managed to get to the shore and luckily there were friends on the beach who witnessed the accident that could help and support him until the ambulance arrived.
He was transported to Tweed hospital via Byron Hospital. The scans revealed that he had a fractured C5 vertebrae in his neck, potential C6 fracture , strained ligaments and internal bleeding around his tissues.
He is stable at home now but the road to recovery has been specified extended period in a neck brace and support collars while the bone and ligaments heal followed by rehab and strength building.
Damo will not be able to work for many months & therefore the money raised will help him cover some living costs, follow up appointments, mental and physical support treatments and ongoing rehab.
We understand that due to the current global and local situations, it is a very tough and hard time for everyone. Therefore any small donation and support from the community would be much appreciated .
