Dan Charuk's Medical Fund

Dan charuk left for his dream vacation on Saturday January 14th, his bucket list places in the Virgin Islands. Little did he know that on Tuesday he would be brought into the medical room on the Cruise ship to be announced critical and needing CPR to bring him back. The cruise ship fast tracked it and docked in Barbados along with my mother and rushed to their hospital.
This past week has been an emotional rollercoaster for those of us who are stuck in Canada unable to support my parents. Dan is in the ICU hooked up to an oxygen mask and tubes draining his lungs. They have found a leison in his lung but they are unable to do a biopsy until he returns home to get care here. Each day a little more progress, however he is deemed unfit to fly commercial and will need to be air ambulanced. The timing of his return is unknown as they are still working on him and continuing testing. My mother who was put into a hotel room by the officials has barely eaten and is currently running out of funds to survive out there. She is dealing with all of this alone with no one to physically support her. Myself and other family members looked into getting on a plane to go but we do not have the funds. The hotel cost is unknown and at the moment it is unclear if their insurance will cover their way home via air ambulance. As it stands with the help that was given on the cruise ship they owe 3500.00 and counting.
My father is one of the strongest, kindest and most loving man I know. His love for his family is what I believe is keeping him going. Also he is very stubborn for those that know him you know ;) I could not imagine what they both are going through and how alone they feel.
We are asking for your help to raise money for them to pay the medical bills. At home awaits his daughter and his 8 yr old grandaughter who love him to the moon and back. Not being able to be there is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. It is not often we ask for help but today we ask for all your love and support. Any amount that you are able to donate we are eternally grateful.
