Dan Engelke’s Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Dan Engelke, a Big Timber resident, was bitten by a dog while walking home on Monday, April 17, 2023, after looking at a vehicle in another part of town. He had stopped to pick up a bag of trash he saw on the ground in an alley. When he lifted the lid of the trash can, the dog lunged over the fence, grabbing his arm and jerking him forward. His arm sustained severe injuries, including muscle tendon, ligament damage, and even tooth marks in the bone. Additionally, he has severe bruising to his hips and abdomen from the dog pulling him into the fence. He is currently hospitalized at Billings Clinic in Billings MT.
According to his daughter Dancee Engelke, he will need reconstructive surgery to repair the tendon and ligament damage and attempt to repair the muscle. They currently have him stabilized and are utilizing a wound vac until it is clean enough to be able to do surgery in a day or two. Dan will also need a skin graft at a later date, once healing allows. However, at this point, the doctors aren’t sure if he will be able to write once all things are said and done.
Unfortunately, Dan recently changed jobs and doesn’t have health insurance. We would like to raise funds to help with his recovery and any expenses he has long-term.
Any donations are greatly appreciated!
