Help Dan Favazzo during his battle with cancer

Donation protected
On January 4th, 2023, Dan went to the emergency room with back pains resembling a kidney stone. After a few tests and a CT scan the doctor broke the news that his pain was coming from liver cancer. In the following months, after numerous tests, scans and doctor visits, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell lung cancer which had already spread to his lymph nodes and liver. His oncologist started him on several treatments of chemotherapy and immunotherapy in March. In June a PET scan showed some progress. At that point it was decided to try immunotherapy only along with radiation on a lymph node in his neck. Due to his insurance company’s policies, the next PET scan couldn’t be scheduled for three more months. By September his cancer had spread to his rib, rectal wall and 9 spots in his brain. Prior to this scan, Dan’s oncologist had hoped to enroll him into a clinical trial; the scan results disqualified him. He is currently being treated with a different chemotherapy drug and radiation. Dan paid his full deductible in January, reached his “Max Out of Pocket” in February, and yet the medical bills continue to accumulate by the thousands. Like most of us, he was not financially prepared. Who can be? With January quickly approaching, the deductibles and out of pocket expenses will reset.

Some of you know him as Dan, Danny, Mr. Favazzo or, if you are family or a close friend, you know him as Toad. You may have met him during his career as the Maintenance Supervisor for West Branch Local Schools, he may have been your school bus driver at Alliance City Schools, he could have waited on you at a drive-thru in Alliance or he may have bought you a round at the Naborhood. He seems to know everyone! If you know him, then you know he is the first person to offer a helping hand to anyone. If he is unable to help personally, he always says “I gotta guy”. If you need something fixed, he is the guy to call! He is also known for his sense of humor, funny stories and his love for his family and friends. Like any Papa, his granddaughter Ava is his world!

Our family humbly asks for any donations that will help ease his financial burden during this stressful time. Dan has spent his life helping others and now he needs to focus on the fight and not the financing. Our sincerest gratitude for your time reading this and our deepest appreciation for any and every donation.
