Dan Gates Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Dan Gates was lost to this world far too soon at the age of 36. He served in the Army as a medic for 5 years, including 26 months in Iraq. After his discharge, he graduated from Franklin College and IU School of Medicine. He had a very bright future, but ultimately he was lost to depression and PTSD.
Due to his mental illness, most of Dan's life unraveled in his final months, leaving him with few assets and relying on the support of his elderly parents. We are asking for help to cover their expenses and the cost to settle Dan's final affairs. We would like to eliminate the financial burden from their already heavy loss.
Any funds received that are over and above their expenses will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project. Depression is a serious illness and shouldn't be stigmatized in modern society. The intent is to donate the leftover funds to help veterans win daily battles and hopefully win the war on depression.
