Dan Lamothe

The pain and emptiness of losing our amazing son and only child is more than we can bear.

He died tragically while performing a fire fighter maneuver in “the maze”. An investigation is pending.

A self taught stand up bass musician, Dan played in the psychobilly band, Stellar Corpses from Santa Cruz CA for 15 years. He became a barber so he could work around the band’s touring schedule.

For many years he dreamed of becoming a fire fighter-especially after the CZU fire in the Santa Cruz mountains. He wanted to give back to the community he was born in and raised. In January 2023 he began his training. We lost him just 7 weeks later.

Dan was well loved by his friends and family. Just google his name and you’ll read beautiful tributes in his honor-including a heartfelt candlelight vigil held near the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz.

Our world went dark on February 19th. Thank you for any assistance that you can give towards his funeral expenses, bereavement, and the unknown expenses of closing down his affairs.

Memorial Service will be held at Moe’s Alley on Sunday, April 2nd 2023 @ 3PM.
