On Sunday, June 11th, my dad was admitted into the ICU at Barstow Community Hospital in Barstow, CA after going through septic shock in his semi-truck. An ambulance just so happened to be in the area due to an unrelated accident on the highway near his truck. That Thursday, the doctors performed a wound debridement on the infection in his foot that caused the sepsis. I flew out to California Wednesday night to rent a car in hopes to get him back to Nebraska as soon as possible.

He was stable enough to get discharged on Sunday, June 18th with orders from the doctor to drive directly to the hospital in Lincoln where his foot specialist doctor is. I got him back to BryanLGH in Lincoln, Nebraska late Monday night. We still do not have a lot of answers, but we do know there will probably be another operation done on his foot and worst case scenario, an amputation.

If you know my dad, he does not ask for much help. He's just happy to be alive and back home. Getting stuck 1,000+ miles away from home when you are sick in the hospital is a very scary situation. I know he had someone looking out for him up there. Please pray for him.
