Dan Mohs' Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hello friends & family,
My dad has been battling throat cancer for over a year now (treatment began in April 2019). The doctors aggressively treated his throat, which turned out to be very successful in ridding that area of cancer. However, it has subsequently spread to his pelvis/hips as well as his liver (officially diagnosed in December 2019). He moved on to a newer drug (Keyturda) which had a 60% chance of helping contain the spread. We unfortunately were in the 40% and the cancer has spread further. In March 2020, the doctor's last efforts are to begin chemo and hope it gives him some additional time. There were 2 potential timelines given: (1) chemo DOESN'T help, doctor gave him 3-6 months (2) chemo works to help contain the spread, doctor said a year would be optimistic. This news has clearly devastated our family as my dad is the backbone of our family, as anyone who knows Dan can attest to being true.
We are raising money for a few reasons. (a) My dad will continue to work as long as he can while receive treatments, but in the near future he will be unable to work. (b) There may be some experimental treatments that could come up, and if they are not covered by insurance these funds would help with that. (c) They are now in the process of getting their home ready to sell and move, so funds would help them with that transition, as they are hoping to move before my dad is gone. (d) My Dad will be starting a full time ministry to share the Word with the homeless and prisoners when the COVID19 pandemic abates. (e) Any funds left would also help my mom financially once my dad is gone, as it will be a dramatic change for her.
We have heard from many people already who want to help in some form or fashion, so we wanted to set this up so that anyone who felt lead to give to help my parents had the opportunity. Your prayers are also greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
Thank you so much and God bless.
