Dan O'Shea's Family Memorial Fund

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My name is Ali, a dear friend of Angie's, and I wanted to start the ball rolling on what we, friends and family of the Willows and O'Shea's, could do to help as a village and community.

Kind, loving and beautiful Daniel (Dan) unexpectedly passed away last week far too young. Like so many during this time, we are devastated and disbelieving. Maybe many months ago we thought it could never happen to us, to someone we loved. But here we are.

Dan touched the lives of everyone he met. The memorial posts speak of a kind, gentle, thoughtful, wickedly funny and sparkly-eyed gentleman who lived for helping others and for enriching the lives of everyone he came across. But for the last decade, he was the soul mate of our beautiful friend Angelique, and a most incredibly loving and dedicated father of Josie.

What many of you may not know is that Dan and Angie recently picked up their life in Adelaide and moved halfway across the country to Tamworth. Now the sole income-earner, Angie is paying astronomical rent in a short-term rental and has had to pull out of purchasing the house that she and Dan had planned to buy together. Along with this tremendous upheaval in the midst of a volatile and expensive rental market, Angie has to pick up the pieces of a shattered life, grieve and heal from her own enormous loss, and provide the love and emotional supports that little Josie is going to need as she also processes the devastating loss of her deeply-loved Daddy.

Grief is not linear, and it will take time for the recovery to even begin. The last thing that Angie needs at the moment is to be worrying about going back to work as quickly as possible to cover the bills. Like many people of our vintage, the swift and crippling unexpectedness of the tragedy means that assets do not become available for many months.

What our beautiful friends need right now is time to grieve. Flowers are beautiful, meals are wonderful and love is essential, but practically, they don't pay the bills.

All money received through this fundraising platform will go directly to the family and is very much needed and appreciated. Imagine yourself in this very situation, and please dig as deeply as you can. A little bit from you, this wonderful network, will go a very long way.

With love,

Ali
