Dan Owens (Dardydan) Recovery

Hi Everyone,

Firstly thank you for looking at this fundraiser, my name is Brittany and I am a family friend of Dan’s. I have created this Go Fund Me page to help out in anyway possible. Please read Dan’s story below, share this page and donate if you can. Every little bit helps.

On November 19th, Dan was admitted to the ICU at Fiona Stanley with a deadly case of Streptococcal A, he had a collapsed lung and severe pneumonia in his other lung. Dan was urgently placed into a medically induced coma, and is currently still in ICU on life support. Doctors were not confident he would pull through at all, he still remains quite critically unwell now, albeit small improvements here and there.

Since Dan has been admitted, he has had multiple roadblocks, and fortunately he has proved us all right in showing us how stubborn he can be, by beating the odds of a 10% chance of survival! (Go Dan, we knew you had it in you!)

However, due to Dan presenting to the hospital initially with an oxygen level of around 30-40% some of his extremities have paid the ultimate price, Dan is currently suffering necrosis in his feet. His recovery timeframe was already estimated to be months away, but with this setback it looks like it could potentially be longer again and he will still need to undergo rehabilitation to learn how to do basic day-to-day functions again. Dans doctors have given him medical exemptions until May 2024, and that highlights the seriousness of his condition in itself. Of course this makes things quite tricky, as Dan is self employed with no fallbacks, and no one to generate more income for him.

Unfortunately Dans bills don’t stop, and with his Bank saying they can’t do much, his mortgage will still need to be paid weekly, plus other minor bills. Sadly the condition Dan has been diagnosed with ‘Double Necrosis of the Lungs’ is also not something that he was covered by insurance for either. Bummer!

All we are asking for is a small donation, if you can afford to do so, so we can help Dan recover in hospital whilst elevating the stresses of his finances. If nothing else, please share this page as we know there are people far and wide that would love to help, and we’re just hoping to get him any help we can.

I know Dan would do anything to help us out if he could, let’s all rally behind him and show him just how much love and support his community can provide in such a hectic time for him!
