The Dan Robinson Above & Beyond Fund 羅得恩基金會

On January 11th, 2021, we lost someone who impacted, loved, and inspired so many. Everything Dan Robinson did, he did with all his heart. Dan was always looking to change lives through teaching—whether through missions, education, sports, or public service. His compassion for the wellbeing of others has touched so many around the world. In Dan’s honor we will be establishing the Dan Robinson Above and Beyond Fund as a way to continue investing and impacting and reaching far to the areas Dan cared about most, Faith, Academics and Relationships.

As a first step in that process, we are inviting the people whose lives Dan impacted to consider contributing to this seed fund that will be used to establish the foundation.

We are eternally grateful for all the support and love we have received during this time and hope we can continue honoring Dan the best way we know how: giving and teaching.

2021年1月11日，我們失去了一位對很多人產生深遠影響，受人愛戴、一生中啟發許多人的人。羅得恩先生（Dan Robinson）在他一生中所做的一切，都是用心全力以赴。無論是經由教會工作，文科教育，體育活動還是公共服務，羅得恩先生一直希望通過教學來改變所有人的生命。他為了增進他人福祉所付出的熱情，感動了全世界許多人。為了永遠紀念羅得恩先生，我們將建立「羅得恩遺愛人間基金會」，以這樣的方式，繼續資助、影響所有人，並深入到羅得恩先生最關心的領域，那就是信仰、學術和人際關係。

創建基金會的第一步，我們將邀請在過往人生中，受到羅得恩先生影響、啟發的人們，向這個新創基金會捐款，這個種子部隊的捐款，將用於最初始成立基金會。

About Dan Robinson 關於羅得恩

Dan was born in a small coastal town in the heart of the California redwoods in 1957. At age 9, he moved with his family to Taiwan, a bustling island of rice paddies and bicycles just beginning to modernize. Growing up in Taiwan, Dan attended Morrison Christian Academy where he quickly gained popularity for his charisma, leadership, sense of humor, and athletic prowess. Whether he was driving to the basket rocking an epic Dr. J afro or speaking at an impromptu student event, Dan was a force of nature who drew others to him and left them inspired.

羅得恩先生於1957年出生在位於美國加州紅杉區中心的一個沿海小鎮。九歲時，他與家人一起移居台灣，那時候的台灣熙攘忙碌，四處都是有腳踏車穿梭其中的稻田，是一個正等著起步建設的地方。之後的時光他在台灣成長。他進入馬禮遜基督教美國學校就讀。很快地，他的魅力，領導才能，幽默感和卓越的運動技能，讓他成為校園裡的風雲人物。在當時，他無論是頂著籃球泰斗Dr. J的爆炸頭上籃，還是在即興的學生活動上發言，羅得恩先生就是有天賦異稟的影響力，他吸引了所有人親近他，並且啟發了他們。

As an adult, Dan was an acclaimed educator, coach, preacher, and school administrator. After marrying the love of his life, Doni, they spent 28 years together in Taiwan raising three amazing sons in the same community he grew up in – albeit with fewer rice paddies and more cars.

成年後，羅得恩是一位著名的教育家，教練，傳教士和學校行政人員。在和他至愛的太太Doni結婚之後，他們一起在台灣度過了28個年頭，在他成長的同一個社區中，他們養育了三個出色的兒子，場地一樣，只是場景中的稻田，已經被熙攘的汽車取代。

A lifelong learner, Dan had an endless curiosity and never stopped reading, listening, questioning, and expanding his horizons. He received multiple degrees, culminating in a Doctor of Education. At every step, he looked for ways to invest what he was learning back into the lives of the people he met along the way.

作為一個終身學習者，羅得恩先生有著無盡的好奇心，他從未停止閱讀，傾聽，質疑和擴大自己的視野。他獲得了多個學位，最終獲得了教育博士學位。他一生中踏出的每一腳步，都在尋找不同的途徑，將自己所學到的一切，回饋給他人生所遇見的每個人，他使人們因為認識他，生命有了正面的改變。

There’s a famous story in the gospel of Matthew where Jesus is in a packed crowd, heading to the home of an important religious leader. As he is walking, a poor woman with a lifelong illness reaches out and touches his garment, desperate for healing. In that moment, time stops and everything else fades. Jesus turns all his attention to the woman, listens to her story, and heals her from a life of pain and longing.

This scene typifies the way Dan lived his life. As he took on bigger jobs, earned advanced degrees, and pursued loftier dreams, he was never too busy to stop everything and invest in those around him. His passion to go above-and-beyond changed the world, and will continue doing so for generations to come.

在馬太福音中，有一個著名的故事，就是耶穌擠在人群中，前往一位重要的宗教領袖的家。在他走路的過程中，一名患有終身疾病的可憐婦女伸出手，摸摸他的衣服，急切地想要康復。在那一刻，時間停止了，其他一切都消失了。耶穌把所有的注意力轉移到女人身上，聆聽她的故事，並從痛苦和渴望中治愈她。

這個場景詮釋了羅得恩先生對生活的態度。當他日後從事更高的職務的工作，獲得最高學位並追求更高的理想時，他從沒有因為忙錄，而停止對他周圍的人付出。他一生中不斷超越自我的熱情，改變了世界，他的精神長存，後世也將持續他的美德。
