Dan Rouleau Medical Expense Fundraiser
Donation protected
Former Hancock hockey coach Dan Rouleau was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's Disease 11 years ago at the age of 46. For the last 11 years, Dan, family, and friends have been travelling to Chicago, IL for doctors appointments, consultations, and most recently for 2 Deep Brain Stimulation surgeries.
As these surgeries will not cure Parkinson's Disease, they will give him a better quality of life for the remainder of his years. During the surgeries, 2 electrodes were placed in his brain that will help control his Parkinson's symptoms by a computer that was placed in his chest and controlled by remote. Although the surgeries have been quite successful, there is still need to travel back and forth to Chicago to visit his Parkinson's doctors for the foreseeable future.
In addition to travels for Parkinson's Disease, Dan also had a severely detached retina on his right eye 12 years ago, which also still requires travel to and from Green Bay, WI for continuous monitoring and repairs.
